Accessing difficult to reach areas safely is what we take pride in however being able to complete the work thoroughly and first time is also key to our business beliefs. We use large pool of rope access trained tradesmen from roofers to drainage and brickwork to inspections making sure we can offer a competitive solution to meet your needs.
Rope access or industrial climbing is a form of work positioning, initially developed from techniques used in climbing and caving, which applies practical rope-work to allow workers to access difficult-to-reach locations without the use of scaffolding cradles or an work platforms. Rope access technicians descend, ascend, and traverse ropes for access and work while suspended by their harness. Rope access is one of the safest trades within the construction industry due to the high levels of training required.
Along with rope access neoteric can also offer powered access using mobile elevated work platforms (mewps). These can sometimes offer a quicker means of work positioning allowing us to access and complete the works in less time meaning less disturbance. You can also access the area that is being worked on to view and inspect the works first hand.
Put simply fall arrest is a system that catches a person if they were to slip whilst working at height (not to be confused with work restraint). This involves securing a person or people using a harness/s conforming to EN 365 allowing them to work in the vicinity of a leading edge. this system allows more freedom to the worker as they are not continually restrained to one area however, It is important that a designated rescue plan and rescuers are present at all time when using fall arrest should a person become suspended.
A work restraint system is on that physically stops a person being able to reach an edge and fall. This involves the use of running lights and tethers along with a EN 361 harness. We can work with you to set up temporary work restraint systems along with providing equipment to allow workers to access a leading edge. This system is great for accessing single area as it is simple and quick to install. It is very low on risk however as the worker/s are physically held back it can slow work progress.
When using most methods of working at height a rescue is required. This is in case a person become stuck, suspended or incapacitated. It is vitally important that a rescue can be carried out quickly and efficiently as the onset of suspension trauma can be very quick.
All of our operatives are train to Irata standard. This is a rigorous training body that is recognised internationally. Part of this training is specific to rescues. This training involves a series of test situations ensuring that a casualty can be quickly and efficiently returned to a safe area.
We can offer guidance on rescues, customised rescue plans along with providing you with trained onsite rescuers. For more information please feel free to get in touch via are contacts page.
